Things to Do

Buttermilk Falls State Park

Picture of Buttermilk Falls State Park

Buttermilk Falls is right next to our venue! The park is split into two parts connected by a hiking trail. One of the most rewarding short hikes in the area is to hike up the Gorge Trail starting in the lower park, and then down the rim trail back (1.6 mile loop). The trail is a continuous waterfall carved through shale by water erosion. There's a lifeguarded swimming area at the beginning or end in the lower park if it's a hot day.

Another wonderful short hike is the Lake Treman Loop accessible through the upper park's parking area or through a trail directly connected to the venue!

Apple Picking

September is apple season! There are two quaint U-pick orchards within a fifteen-minute drive: Indian Creek Farm and Littletree Orchards. They are both lovely in the fall.

Littletree is a bit more old fashioned feeling with cider donuts and lots of full sized apple trees while Indian Creek has higher quality fruit.

Apple Drinking

Did we mention its apple season? Prefer your apples already picked pressed and fermented? Two of our favorite places for hard cider flights are South Hill Cider's tasting room (5 min drive from our venue) and the Fingerlakes Cider House (30 min, but its worth it, and in the same direction as Taughannock Falls)

Eat in Ithaca

Some favorite places to eat and drink are: Gimmie Coffee, Moosewood, Cafe Dewitt, Saigon Kitchen, Glenwood Pines, Watershed, and Argos.

Further afield parks

Robert H. Treman State Park (10 min from venue), Taughannock Falls State Park (20 min from venue) and Watkins Glen State Park (40 min from venue) are all stunning and well worth a visit. If you're not up for a long hike, Taughannock has the tallest waterfall east of the rockies, and one of the best views of the waterfall is visible just a few minutes from the overlook parking lot.
